Job Location: Jangpura and Ashram Chowk, New Delhi
Job Remuneration: Rs. 45,000 per month (Rs. 43,000 in first six months of probation and Rs. 45,000 per month once permanent). With annual increment at 6/8/10% depending on the annual performance review.

Job Description of the MEL Coordinator:
The MEL Coordinator is responsible for developing and leading the organisation’s monitoring, evaluation, learning, accountability, and evidence systems. One of the key roles will be to flag if organization/ projects/ programs are in the right direction and achieving the desired results or not. If not, help the organization in taking corrective actions, draw learnings, and take timely decisions. Along with that, the position ensures that program implementation is informed by reliable data, community feedback, reflection, learning, and evidence of results. The role works closely with program teams, field staff, communities, leadership, donors, and partners to ensure that the organisation can answer the following questions:
Are we implementing what we planned?
Are we reaching the right people?
Are our activities producing the intended results?
What is changing for communities/ survivors/ youth?
Why are some interventions working or not working? What are communities/ survivors/ youth telling us?
What should we improve based on evidence? What change and learning can we demonstrate to stakeholders and donors?
Roles and Responsibilities of the MEL Coordinator:
- Develop and lead the organisation’s Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) strategy, systems and standards.
- Develop project-level MEL plans, log-frames, theories of change, indicators and targets.
- Establish practical systems to monitor activities, outputs, outcomes and programme quality (Quantitative and Qualitative both).
- Lead routine monitoring of programme performance against approved plans, targets and indicators.
- Conduct regular field visits, monitoring reviews and data verification across project locations.
- Ensure data quality through systematic data validation, audits, spot checks
- Lead or coordinate baseline, mid-term, end-line, and outcome assessments.
- Develop timely MEL reports, dashboards (Digitization of MEL), performance summaries and evidence-based recommendations for management and programme teams.
- Support programme teams in integrating MEL, evidence and learning into programme design, proposals and budgets.
- Establish and strengthen community feedback, participation and accountability mechanisms.
- Facilitate regular programme reflection, learning and review processes to promote evidence-based decision-making.
- Document and disseminate lessons learned, good practices, innovations, case studies and outcome stories.
- Build the MEL capacity of programme and field teams through training, mentoring, coaching and technical support.
- Demonstrate professional values of ethical, confidential and responsible handling of beneficiary and programme data, including safeguarding considerations.
- Promote an organisational culture where data informs decisions, learning improves programmes, and evidence demonstrates impact.
Necessary Professional Skills:
- The person should ideally have strong skills in Results-Based Management (RBM), Theory of Change, Logical Framework Approach, Indicator development, Outcome and impact measurement, Quantitative and qualitative research, Participatory research, Data analysis, Data visualisation, Data quality assurance, Evaluation methodologies, Survey design, Sampling, Report writing, Knowledge management, Community feedback mechanisms
- Skills in MS Excel / Google Sheets, MIS/database systems
- Competent in Analytical thinking, Strong communication, Facilitation skills, Attention to detail, Problem-solving, team management, Ability to work with field teams, Ability to simplify complex data, Strong report-writing skills, Participatory and community-centred approach, Commitment to evidence and learning, Integrity and confidentiality, Ability to challenge programme assumptions constructively

Eligibility:
Education: Master’s degree in one of the following or related fields: Development Studies/ Social Work/ Public Policy/ Economics/ Statistics/ Social Sciences/ Public Health/ Rural Development/ Monitoring & Evaluation/ International Development
Work experience: Must minimum 3 years of work experience in MEL related roles.
