Shakti Shalini is a Delhi based NGO founded in 1987 that responds to gender and sexual violence, discrimination, and inequality via survivor support services, preventative programs, educational enhancement, literary productions, and media outreach.
Job Status: Full Time, Monday to Friday, (10:00am-6:00pm, some flexibility expected as per field requirements)

Job Location: Jangpura and Nehru Nagar, Delhi
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Salary: Rs. 35,000/ month for the probation period of first six months. Rs. 37,000/ month if offered a permanent employment through a performance review at the conclusion of the probation period.
Reporting: The primary reporting person of the Youth Associate for Fellowships will be the Youth Mentorships Coordinator
About the Youth Mentorships Program:
From across India, high school students, undergrad and postgradstudents, youth outside formal education systems, research scholars, and young working professional connect with Shakti Shalini as fellows, interns, andvolunteers and are trained as gender equality champions. They cut across class,caste, religion, region, language, educational levels. They are mostly betweenthe ages of 14-35 years and we consider them a crucial group of futurechangemakers for gender equality. We work with around 50 youth champions everyyear. Shakti Shalini designs highly personalised trainings for each fellow, intern, and volunteer. The trainings are focussed on building the theoretical, practical, and psycho-emotional skills of young people to be able to respond to sexual and gender-based violence and to promote gender equality in all the relationships and spaces they are part of.
About the Leher Fellowship for Young Men:
Shakti Shalini’s Leher Fellowship 2026-27 is nine-month intensive training for six young men aged between 18-24 years and residing in the five marginalised communities Shakti Shalini works with. The fellowship will train the young men in the skill and capacity to work as grassroots community interventionists and changemakers for gender equality. The fellowship is focussed on building the capacity and skills of young men as gender equality allies and champions of inclusion-based masculinities.
Job Description
The Youth Associate: Fellowships, is expected to conduct the Leher Fellowships with 6 young men. They are expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of gender and masculinities considering the subject focus of the fellowship. As a part of conducting the fellowship, their role will include everything from designing the fellowship structure, modules, and sessions to facilitating modules and sessions, managing logistics and coordination for the fellowship, sourcing opportunities and resources for the fellows, managing the partners and external stakeholders of the fellowship, to taking care of the psycho-emotional needs as well as the pedagogic learning of the fellows. The role allows significant scope for growth and learning.
Responsibilities of the Helpline Social Worker:
Understand the vision and mission of Shakti Shalini to work toward gender equality.
Understand the vision and mission of the Youth Mentorships program to nurture and build future gender equality champions.
Understand the vision and mission of the Leher Fellowship, particularly regarding the importance of working with young men through the lens of gender and masculinities as an essential contribution toward gender equality.
Designing the structures, systems, processes of the Leher Fellowship through the lens of gender and masculinities and in alignment with the skills and themes targeted by the fellowship.
Designing modules and sessions for the Leher Fellowship through the lens of gender and masculinities and in alignment with the skills and themes targeted by the fellowship.
Implementing and facilitating the modules and sessions with the 6 fellows through the lens of gender and masculinities and in alignment with the skills and themes targeted by the fellowship.
Creating and maintaining external partnerships for the fellowship and bringing external mentors, opportunities, and resources to the fellows.
Lead the group of 6 fellows ensuring their compliance with the policies of the organisation and rules of the fellowship.
Invest time, care, and nurture in the psycho-emotional safety and wellbeing of the fellows.
Alongside group work, ensure that individualised and personalised attention and support is provided to each fellow.
Ensure that in all conduct with the fellows, partners, team, and other stakeholders, principles of equality, empathy, non-judgment, care, democratic approaches, is maintained.
Manage the day to day logistics and coordination for the fellowships such as calendars, schedules, time management, sourcing essential requirements, communication across mentors and programs.
Ensure that all qualitative and quantitative documentation, as planned, is maintained for the fellowship.
Ensure monthly reports are submitted to the organisation on the fellowship.
Ensure that reports as per the formats and frequency mandated are prepared for the funder of the fellowship.
Ensure implementation of the fellowship MEL system.
Ensure data tracking and management for the fellowship.
Ensure regular updates from the fellowship to the organisation’s media team for content creation, newsletters, media outreach.
Represent the organisation, particularly the fellowship, at relevant public platforms and partnering organisations.
Participate in full-team and project specific capacity buildings and trainings that are offered by the organisation to upgrade skills and knowledge.
Participate in all pan-organisation meetings and annual events.
Necessary Skills:
English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
Good Hindi reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.Module/ Session designing and facilitation skills.
Strong youth mentorship and youth training skills.
Strong critical and analytical skills particularly on subjects of gender, masculinities, violence, sex, sexuality, health, rights, and freedoms.
Committed to the mission of gender equality, particularly toward working with young men through a gender and masculinities lens.
Able to lead a group of young men with effectiveness, sensitivity, care, organisation, planning, and balanced leadership.
Possesses an attention to detail, strong time-management skills, good planning and coordination abilities, and the capacity to strategise, problem-solve, and delegate tasks effectively.
Capable of maintaining composure in situations of stress and crisis.
Self-reflective, and open to learn and receiving critical feedback.
Prior experience with young men and marginalised communities would be preferred.
Eligibility:
Academic: The candidate must have a postgraduate degree in social work/ gender studies or an allied subject.
Work experience: Must have a minimum 1 year of work experience.
